NEMRA 2026 Field Day

Good morning. At our June monthly meeting yesterday it was decided thta this years Field Day will just be a fun event for the club. We decided our start time to be 12 noon Saturday June 27, communications start at 1pm local time. We will do our best to put up another antenna, dipole, end fed, who knows for the second radio to use. It will just be come in, visit, operate and have some good old fashion ham radio time together. We have no clue how long we will operate or what modes, those will likely depend on the operators and how they work together on band coordination. There will have to be coordination between the two stations to limit interference. So if you want to come out and join with us please do so. We would love to have a bunch of folks hamin it up. And we want everyone that wants to to get a chance in an operating position so please remember to share your position to others. Once again come out and join us if for no other reason the comradery. And you don’t have to have license to join, but an interest in ham radio is probably a must since thats what you hear while there. lol 73 de W5NEM

June meeting

Good morning everyone. Hope y’all are staying cool and if not have a hat on and a bottle of water in hand. NEMRA had a great meeting yesterday morning in spite of my failed demonstration of the Quansheng firmware upgrade. Could not get the laptop to communicate with the radio. Think a Windows update may have screwed up the drivers for the cable. We had a no show on the satellite. Steve said the satellite had been showing up on AMSAT as no contact for the last couple of days so it must still be down possibly for maintenance. There were 13 in attendance at the meeting, had the new row of tables in use also. We have 5 new members, lets give them a welcome: KA1VBU Daniel Slaughter, KB3RGS Kimberly Slaughter, they hail from the Aberdeen area. Then we have KJ5PSK Paul Bunch from Mantachie, K5TV Bobby Copeland and KE5WPW Sharon Copeland from Tremont. Super glad to have these folks with us.
