Just hanging in there

Just a quick for those watching this blog.

Nothing new, no meetings still for NEMRA as of now, and the FCC is going to start charging for test and renewals.

Keep the faith and maybe we will get back to normal before to long.

73 for now. If I can help any of you please feel free to call or email me

Jackson HamFest

From the Jackson Amateur Radio Club in Jackson, MS.
——————————————
During a telephone conference call on August 4, 2020, the board of directors of the Jackson Amateur Radio Club voted unanimously to cancel the Capital City Hamfest for the year 2021.

This action was taken due to the many uncertainties caused by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The next Capital City Hamfest is now scheduled for January 28-29 2022. As of this writing, the location for the 2022 event will be the new Mississippi Trade Mart.

Since all Skywarn training has been cancelled I am posting this as a alternative for the training. Go to the National Weather Service Memphis facebook page for more information.

VE test cancelled

After careful consideration, Prayer, and input from all the Volunteer Examiners at NEMRA for the Laurel testing group, we have decided that we are going to cancel the VE Testing for April 18th, 2020.
We do not want to contribute to the scare of Covid-19 virus but we feel an obligation and duty to follow the Mississippi local, and federal governments guidelines with this proposed pandemic to help stop the spread of the virus.
Please keep yourselves prepared and use due diligence with personal hygiene and help stop the spread of all germs.
Take care and God Bless the USA!!
