NEMRA, INC - About us

Welcome to the Northeast Mississippi Radio Amateurs Radio Club (NEMRA, INC) serving amateur radio operators and amateur radio enthusiast in the North Mississippi area. The club encourages ham radio activities in all the areas open to amateur radio operators and all aspects of the hobby. The mission of the club is to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism, and individual operating efficiency, to provide a service to the community at large, and to conduct club programs and activities to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the community and, most of all, provide enjoyment, fun, and fellowship in the Amateur Radio hobby.
The club participated in several events throughout the calendar year that allows its members, prospective members and those interested in the amateur radio hobby, a chance to learn and improve communication skills and otherwise have fun and a good time. Some of these activities include but are not limited to:
  • Programs at regular scheduled meetings
  • Special training programs
  • Special work details (Hams Helping Hams)
  • VE Testing sessions
  • ARRL Field Day
  • MS QSO Party
  • Communication and assistance for local special events not amateur radio related
The club holds regular meeting on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30 pm local time with doors open at 6:00 pm for those ‘brown bagging’ supper and casual conversation prior to the start of the meeting. The meeting is usually located at the Old Fulton Grammar School; 603 South Cummings Street; Fulton, MS. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, other locations are available as needed.

NEMRA, Inc Club is a State of Mississippi designated charitable organization and we have worked very diligently to achieve this classification. Our club constitution and bylaws govern the operation of the club and a copy of the constitution and bylaws are included in this package.
The club has the following officers (2022-2023):

NEMRA, Inc club dues are $25.00 and are due Jan 1st and the financial year ends Dec 31st. There are several types of membership that are outlined in the bylaws and give prospective members several options that they can choose from. Club dues are used to support the club activities and maintain the club equipment.

Announcements, information, and other publications are published to the club members that have a valid email address and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/W5NEM/) and here art www.w5nem.org . For special information as related to the club, sometimes text messages are used to attempt to get the information out as soon as possible.

Skywarn local net is on every Thursday night at 19:00 local (CST) on the 145.450 (Fulton) repeater with 147.075 (Tupelo) as an alternate. Please check in if you are in the area and fellowship with us.
