The first VE testing session of 2025 for NEMRA, Inc. is coming up on Saturday, January 18th at 9:00 AM. Here are the key details and instructions:
Location:
- Old Fulton Grammar School, 603 S Cummings St, Fulton, MS
- Testing will take place in the NEMRA club room (look for the red testing sign on the south side).
Important Information:
- RSVP Required: You need to RSVP to secure your spot, or the session will be canceled the day before.
- Walk-ins: Allowed if there are open spots from those who RSVP'd.
- Testing Fee: No fee for testing at NEMRA.
- Required Items:
- Two types of ID (one must be a state-issued photo ID).
- Current license and any CSCEs (Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination).
- FRN (FCC Registration Number) – Social Security numbers are no longer accepted for testing. Obtain your FRN at FCC CORES Registration.
Important Notes:
- For Technician License: Be aware that there is now a $35 fee for new or renewed amateur radio licenses (starting Jan 1, 2021).
- Testing Process:
- Ensure your FRN is registered with the FCC before attending.
- If you don't have an FRN yet, follow the instructions in the announcement to register through the FCC CORES site.
- If you are upgrading or adding a license class, bring copies of any prior CSCEs that have not yet been reflected in your current license.
