Local Repeater NEWS!!!

Good evening all.

Chuck (N5VGK) and Joe (AB5OR) have been busy the past few days with some repeater updates and allocations. We have been asked to get this information out for the club and others in the ham radio community.
Effective immediately, the 444.950 D-Star repeater in Tupelo/Auburn is now a full time DMR repeater. If you need help setting up a DMR radio with the repeater info got the N5VGK DMR repeater, please email Joe or Chuck about the needed settings for the repeater. Also, in the time slot 1 is a connection to the National Weather Service in Memphis so when the weather service gets on Talk Group 31471, we hear it without linking. So when we get weather in the area, they are asking for reports and they are giving real time updates for us and other nets that are opened up during severe weather. They also ask for check ins, name, location, etc.
Time Slot 1 is for general linking and Time Slot 2 is for local (TG9) and MS Statewide (3128)
Not wanting to stop DStar service for the area, Chuck, Eric, and Joe have put the 146.835 repeater on DStar. You will need to modify your radios for the call-sign K5LLO instead of the W5NEM as before. Some had this repeater listed as Bonneville ETV. Remember it will look like K5LLO C. So the K5LLO C(for VHF) K5LLO G (other setting on the channel list), and K5LLO CL (for linking). Also remember that you have to have the L in the eight character to link.
Hope this information is helpful.
We will be having a DMR meeting sometime in the near future possibly in junction with the Area51 Group for anyone wanting to get up to speed with the DMR radios and repeaters.
All for now,
73 and God Bless!!

April 2019 meeting

Just taking a moment to remind you of our April meeting at the Fulton club tomorrow Tuesday April 9th, 2019. We don't have a lot of business so barring something coming up, Chuck is going to put on a demo with the new Flex 6600M. We will have a live station for demo an other will have the opportunity to look at this cutting edge SDR radio.
Other clubs have requested this type of demo and I thought it was an opportunity to let some of the NEMRA members to have a take on it.
See you there, and remember we start at 6:30 PM.
Keep a watch on the weather tonight and possible later on this week for some storms.
Take care and God Bless!!
